This Privacy Policy describes how Undistract ("we", "our", or "us") collects, uses, and protects information when you use the Undistract mobile application ("the App") on Android. By using the App, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
1. Information We Collect
Undistract is designed with your privacy as a priority. We collect the minimum information necessary to provide and improve the app's features.
Usage Statistics (Local Only)
The app tracks your focus session durations, number of sessions completed, tasks created and completed, and habit streak data. All of this data is stored exclusively on your device and is never transmitted to our servers.
App Blocking Data (Local Only)
To enable the app-blocking feature, Undistract uses Android's Usage Access permission to detect which app is in the foreground. We do not store a log of which apps you use — this detection happens in real-time solely to enforce your block list during a focus session.
Device Information (Non-Identifiable)
We may collect anonymous, non-personally identifiable crash reports and error logs to fix bugs. These reports do not contain any data about your tasks, habits, or focus sessions.
2. How We Use Your Information
The information processed by the app is used solely to:
- Display your daily and historical focus statistics.
- Block specified apps during active focus sessions.
- Track task completion and habit streak progress.
- Deliver AI-powered motivational insights based on your local usage patterns.
- Identify and fix technical issues through anonymous crash reports.
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for advertising or any other commercial purpose.
3. Permissions We Request
Usage Access (App Usage Stats)
Required to detect which app is currently active on your screen so that Undistract can trigger its app-blocking overlay during a focus session. This permission is used only while a session is active. We never log your full app usage history.
Notifications
Used to send you focus reminders, session completion alerts, and habit check-in notifications. You can disable these at any time from your device settings.
Display Over Other Apps (Draw Over Apps)
Required to display the 'You're losing focus!' blocking screen when you navigate away from the app during a session. This overlay is dismissed the moment you return to the app.
4. Data Storage & Security
All user-generated data — including tasks, focus history, habit streaks, and settings — is stored locally on your Android device using the device's secure storage. No data is uploaded to a remote server without your explicit action.
We implement reasonable technical safeguards to protect data stored within the app. However, you are responsible for the physical security of your device and for any device-level backup solutions (e.g., Google Drive backup) you choose to enable.
5. Third-Party Services
Undistract does not currently integrate any third-party advertising SDKs or analytics platforms that collect personal data. If this changes in a future update, this policy will be updated and users will be notified before the update is applied.
The Google Play Store distribution of this app is subject to Google's own Privacy Policy, which governs any data collected through the Play Store platform itself.
6. Children's Privacy
Undistract is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us at support@undistract.tech and we will promptly delete such information.
7. Data Retention
Since all data is stored locally on your device, you have full control over its retention. You may delete your data at any time by:
- Clearing individual tasks or habits within the app.
- Clearing the app's data from your device settings (Settings → Apps → Undistract → Clear Data).
- Uninstalling the application.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the app's features or applicable law. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify users via an in-app notification.
Your continued use of the app after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
